Metro Manila · A Site Visit at Circuit Makati
Though still hidden behind a high fence, some parts of Makati's new entertainment and lifestyle district are already open to the public - as the Megacitizens.com team found out during a visit.
Slowly but surely, Circuit Makati is taking shape. Several leisure facilities at Circuit Makati opened in early 2014, while the bigger part - namely condominium towers and shopping areas - is scheduled to be completed in 2016.
We visited the construction site of the Ayala Land development on a late Tuesday afternoon in mid-March, shortly before sunset.
Workers were busy building a terminal hub where cabs, jeepneys and other public utility vehicles will load and unload passengers in the future. A showroom with model units for the condominium towers is almost ready to open. One of the towers is already sold out, according to a broker who showed us around.
For now, the area of the former Sta. Ana Racing Track, where Circuit Makati is being developed, is still in large parts unbuilt on, providing a stunning view of Makati's Skyline.
The leisure area near the Pasig River, however, is already full of life. Kids and youngsters are skateboarding at the Mountain Dew Skate Park. Football teams train on the Gatorade Chelsea Blue Pitch, a playing field with artificial blue grass. And the spacious Globe Circuit Events Ground is already an established venue for concerts and festivals.
