It is mid June and the rainy season has just started, but already Metro Manila experiences the first floods.

Rainy season 2013: Sudden rainfall flooded streets in parts of the Megacity on June 11 and - more seriously - on the afternoon of June 13. Many schools suspended classes, PNR trains stopped operating and a lot of streets were not passable for vehicles, leading to heavy traffic in affected areas all over the Metropolitan area. People were forced to walk home instead, take a pedicab or a makeshift float (pictured above: Makati City).

A constantly updated list of affected roads and areas can be observed on the Twitter account of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
