Metro Manila · National Library Entrance Now Free!
Hankering for a good book? Go straight to the National Library because entrance is now free! And they have free Wi-Fi too!
The public can now access the National Library for free. The library used to require a library card to Megacitizens to allow entrance but since August 16, 2016 all library rats only need to present any valid ID and register at the National Library’s IT division to get access to all books and other reading materials.
There are a few ground rules though and the no.1 rule according to NLP is that you can’t borrow the books – you would have to read them right there. And who wouldn’t want that? The National Library is one cool place to read a nice book. Visitors can photocopy some pages but this is limited. You can’t take photos of books either. NLP representatives added that smoking, drinking, and eating are strictly prohibited inside its premises.
The east wing of the library’s second floor area has free Wi-Fi.
The library, located at T.M. Kalaw St., Ermita, Manila is open from 8 am to 5 pm
