Metro Manila · Lopez Museum & Library
The Lopez Museum covers more than 600 years of Philippine Arts & Letters, featuring famous Philippine artists, historic maps, colonial-time drawings and pictures, and a library with over 20,000 titles.
The museum collection includes works by legendary Philippine painters such as Juan Luna, Felix Resurreccion Hidalgo, Fernando Amorsolo, and Vicente Manansala. The Lopez Museum is also a venue for regularly changing temporary exhibits of contemporary artists. The combination of old and new often results in insightful interplays of history and present, classic and modern, colonial and post-colonial.
The library specializes on books, magazines, and other publications from and about the Philippines - some of them century-old rarities. It is open to the public and a great place to deepen one's knowledge about the country.
