Metro Manila · Art in Island - Interactive Art Museum
Charge your cameras, take off your shoes and immerse in the colorful world of Art in Island. This newly opened art museum is family-friendly and interactive, as visitors become part of astonishing 3D-paintings.
The walls and floors of Art in Island are covered in large-scale paintings that seem to come alive and spread into the room. You will discover fantastic worlds such as underwater paradises, ancient civilizations, far-away galaxies and winter wonderlands. Visitors have to take off their shoes at the entrance so they can step "into" the paintings for crazy photo shoots. Art in Island is a playful way of showing the possibilities of art and the power of optical illusions.
It is recommended to visit the museum during weekdays or right when it opens on weekends, as it can get quite crowed later in the day.
Art in Island opened on Christmas Day 2014, after the artists spent 120 days to work on the paintings. There is a canteen inside and a dessert store at the exit. Here you can see caricature figures of all involved artists and how they recycled the materials they used, with paint buckets under the table and used palette boards on the wall.
